Tendered port question

If you take a RC excursion in a tendered port like Santorini or Mykonos, are you required to tender back to the ship after the excursion? Or can you spend time exploring on your own after, and catch a RC tender back to the ship?

We have always been able to explore on our own after a ship's tour.

Santorini and Mykonos...yes, you can explore after your excursion and catch the RC tender back later.

Technically the tenders are not necessarily part of the excursion. They do get you to shore, where you will board your bus (if that's the type of excursion you're taking) to start your excursion. Once the bus(?) returns, you are free to wander around the port and take any tender that is heading back to the ship.
