How to sign up for karaoke on discovery princess for December 17 cruise?

I don't think you sign up in advance.  Most likely just show up at the venue at the proper time.

Get there about 10 minutes early.... Once they have the equipment set up, they'll start doing signups

Just show up slightly early. If like most sailings there will be plenty of space for you. Have a number songs/artists ready in your mind. There are no books or lists to go through.

Guess you are questioning books or lists of karaoke songs. There are no hard copy lists or books that list which songs are available. Some ships had a tablet that you could scroll through, but it wasn't that easy to use. You just have to ask the staff member for the song/artist that you want to sing. They will look it up to see if they have it. They can search by song title or by artist. Suggest you come prepared with a few songs in your mind. If your first choice isn't available then maybe your 2nd or 3rd will be.

On Majestic Princess, the DJ would post a QR code at the door for guests to scan and the song list would pop up on their Iphones. May be this feature is for newer ships only.

My granddaughter and I want to sing 1 8 7 7 Kars For Kids  and get booed off the stage.

Good to know. It's a nice upgrade to the selection process.

Doubtful Princess has this backing track. You could ask to sing without a backing track. There are also times when karaoke is limited to adults. Depends on the ship's staff. There could be a youth karaoke session.
