Was on the Pursuit this year. Best library of travel books you will find. Used them in planning my 2023 trip. On Celebrity the Casino was a place we walked through to get to another area of the ship. We aren’t gamblers.

I also found the Travel Guide Library to be a plus. At this time of the year ( & always) let's all enjoy peace & each other. I totally understand that we can disagree and want different things from our experience. The reason I replied to you in the first place was that you cited that the casinos weren't successful because the odds were poor and didn't attract the guests to go there. This is factually incorrect (rather than a matter of opinion). If the casinos can't open because of the length of time they spend in ports prevents it then it doesn't matter how attractive they are to go to. They weren't economically viable so that's why they went. Your second major point that you've been the Den on an Asia cruise and it hasn't been well used is an opinion or observations. My view having been on probably 15 Den cruises is that it's very popular at many times of day. Including during the daytime when it's been used for trivia. In a word the place has been transformed in use and atmosphere from when it was a casino. No comparison. Phil

Phil In the times that I have sailed since there has been a Den, it is sometimes difficult to even find a seat in there in the evening. The casino was usually a ghost town
dabear Posted December 28, 2022 #30 Share Posted December 28, 2022 I do agree that if the casino was not doing well economically, then it either must be improved or closed. Since A has alot of late night or overnight ports it was harder to run the casino. We will give the den another try. I haven't found on any of our A cruises, alot of late night activity in any event. Our cruises tend to be more culturally intensive rather than "Caribbean" type.
marinaro44 Posted December 28, 2022 #31 Share Posted December 28, 2022 Seems to me there'd be even less activity in a casino on a "cultural" itinerary than on a "Caribbean" type. Two nights ago on Onward The Den was packed---couldn't find a seat--when the Cameron Family performed, and last night it was crowded for a guitarist and then again later at ten for Tony and Christine.

Couple that with great service (so I’ve heard) and an upscale feel, im sure this line doesn’t disappoint. However, a casino is a must for us so sadly, Azamara will not be in our future. Thank you all for chiming in! We are going on our First Azamara cruise on Quest around Japan in April and will have port days almost every day so I have Not told my Wife that Azamara does Not have Casinos because that is Her favorite place on a Cruise Ship. Her reaction will determine if we ever do another Azamara cruise.................. 1

Our Japan Cruise is port intensive (14 of 15 days) My hope is that getting off the ship every day will keep her distracted. Also the Casinos are always closed in port so she would not be able to hang out there?
