For those who were on board a Cunard ship at the very sad time of Her Majesty's death, can you tell us how the announcement was made, if indeed any announcement was made?  Also, did they hold any special service or remembrance?

Thanks,

I was onboard QM2 when it happened. Some passengers where taking about it saying she had died. I went to the reception desk and informed them what had been said. They said they would pass that message upstairs although I suspect upstairs already knew and about 10 or 15 minutes after I went to the reception the announcment was made by Captain Hashemi.

Thank you!  The thread you linked has some good descriptions and pictures of the tributes.

I was onboard QV. We were told by the captain very quickly after the news broke.

There was a book if condolence opened, remembrance services held, and more than one silence held. The funeral was also broadcast in various places, plus in staterooms.

I felt it was all handled extremely well.
