Leaving on the 11 day Celebrity Edge Holiday cruise in 2 days. (Dec 22nd)  Part of the trip will be cruising the Panama Canal. First question would be, are the Edge Cabanas worth the cost and would the sailing day in the Panama Canal be a good day to book one to have some good views? Thanks

I second that. Also, there are different ways to experience the Canal, and you should try as many of them as you can. Not sure if there's any public space at the front of the ship - maybe they open the helipad? I'd go there entering the Canal, you should see lots of traffic, and then the sides while in a lock, going up and down, and then aft for that view. I would camp out on the deck above the  pool while going between locks for the land view.

I was quite surprised to see the location of the cabanas on Edge.  They must have been an afterthought.  They were mostly empty and with lots of people walking right in front of them.

I thought to myself, I would not want to sit there even if it was free.
