hard_eight Posted December 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2022 Anyone that has cruised recently...I'm on a casino cruise in Jan on the Celebration. Was just curious what the table minimums are in the casino. $10 Blackjack? $15? What about craps? $10/$15 minimums on craps gets expensive quickly! That's how much I bet. I've never played the other games.

Between the $20 for a basic meal, high table minimums, slow drink service, $15-$20 bar drinks etc, it's lost its luster. You can get a great room rate and flights are still cheap (sometimes) but that's about it. They've priced a lot of folks out and many that go now play, eat and buy off the strip with many long time gamblers avoiding the strip altogether. Even CES was a bust in 2022, it will be interesting to see if 2023 is bust also, I predict it will be with all this flu/covid/sickness going around.

Colorado Beach Bum Posted December 22, 2022 #11 Share Posted December 22, 2022 On Mardi Gras 3 times and craps was $5, BJ $6. Same with Panorama and Vista all since restart.

roguebandit1441 Posted December 23, 2022 #13 Share Posted December 23, 2022 We were on the Dream in September and I was very disappointed that all the table games have increased from $5 to $10 minimum. Good news is the craps table is less crowded, bad you need twice the bank roll. If your lucky slots can support your craps habit. LOL.

ChuckF Posted December 23, 2022 #15 Share Posted December 23, 2022 Dream in October had $10 craps table. Despite other cruisers who cruise pretty regularly telling them that they were just on the Breeze or the Vista with $5 craps table. Dealers indicated that $10 was fleet-wide. There were several $6 BJ tables.

Based on your screen name, I'm not sure we agree on what that is 🤔 But to answer your question, three weeks ago, Spirit's craps table was a $5 minimum. They have HORRIBLE odds though. If you think 3-4-5 is bad, Carnival's odds are capped at 2x, which takes away the biggest advantage a player has on the craps table. Even so, making the smart bets only, you can play a good while. Just don't let the dealers talk you into stupid ***** like prop bets. They try really hard to sucker you into horn bets and hard ways.

On the Dream last week we found a $6/min blackjack in the non-smoking casino which could be bet (idk the terminology) all at the same time or $1 could be put in the special play circle above where you bet on the game for a chance at winning if certain cards came up (you lost it if the certain cards didn't come up for the house). (lol, sorry that's so unhelpful sounding- it was our first time).
keels81 Posted December 23, 2022 #19 Share Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) On the Celebration, Craps is $10. There is only one table and if it's a casino cruise (like the Ultra I was just on), you'll need to stake out a spot at your preferred table hours before the casino opens or else you'll be waiting in a line upwards of four hours (specifically for craps) to get a spot, especially if the table is hot. After our first sea day, players were taping their S&S cards to spots at their desired tables and didn't get off the ship so they were guaranteed a seat. Blackjack was $10 at 6:5 pay table and there is only one table that isn't a forced progressive/bit game. I've only seen $5 craps on cruises out of Galveston this year (Breeze, Vista). It's been $10 on Mardi Gras, Valor, and obviously Celebration. Edited December 23, 2022 by keels81

And yes, the minimum is $6, which is a way of forcing you to make the horrible side bet if you want to play for $5/ hand. Otherwise you could play for, say, $10/hand with no side bet. FAIR WARNING: BJ PAYS 6:5 ON THESE TABLES, not 3:2. That's the difference between a 0.5% house edge and a 2% house edge.

Rarely play in the middle of the table. So it sounds like its hit or miss on $5 tables...I'll find out in two weeks! Thanks everyone

So it sounds like its hit or miss on $5 tables...I'll find out in two weeks! Thanks everyone Good luck, it's also hit or miss on table atmosphere too. One of the reasons I enjoy craps is because a lively table can be tons of fun. Earlier this month on Spirit we had a good table going until a group of people showed up that killed it. There were three of them and together they were doing all kinds of stupid ***** like ambiguous last second bets, throwing chips in the wrong place, complicated bets, and just generally trying to confuse the hell out of the dealers. It slowed the pace of the table to a crawl, led to them bringing in an extra dealer to help keep an eye on things, and basically killed the vibe at the table. Very disappointing as it was a fast-paced and fun table. I was $340 up when I colored up, and probably would have played much longer had they not killed the table.
