Gift card question

FYI, you can buy gift cards at AllState Insurance.  You don't have to have your insurance through them, just accrue points through other CC members who post the codes.  10,000 points will buy a $1,000 gift card for $900. Check out this thread for more info and codes (last page has a recent code posted).  Have a great cruise!!

Just want to clarify something about the Carnival Gift Card.  If I recall from when I last sailed them, you can use them to actually PAY for your cruise (which I think is different than others which they can only be used for OBC).  Is that still correct?  I get points at work for various things and I can buy these cards with those points so I want to make sure this is still the case.

Correct!  I paid off my January cruise with a couple Carnival gift cards on my Cruise Manager.

Me too...I buy Carnival gift cards from AARP for 10% and use them to pay the deposit, to pay my balance, pre-cruise purchased items like bubbles and water and then towards my folio balance once on the ship (at the kiosk).

I  use my Southwest CC to buy the Carnival gift cards from AARP so also get airline points.

You can pay for everything with it. Cruise, fly2fun, excursions, specialty dining, internet, cheers/bubbles, gratuities...apply them to your onboard account.

Can't find the cards on AARP right now, but I know they come and go.  I'll keep looking.  I have a cruise in July so have until April to pay it off, If I can buy cards at a discount that's more that I can save 🙂

Go to the redeem rewards section of AARP rewards-filter by members only, Carnival cards should show right up

I cruise in March.  I made reservations for specialty dining using my gift card.  I need to cancel the dinner reservation; so will the amount go to my account as onboard credit or will it be sent back to me by way of a gift card?

Based on my experience, they'll mail you a new gift card.

I used a couple of mine in Sept. or October towards payment.  Unless they recently changed it, you  should be all good.
