we stayed at the holiday inn in san pedro. we had the fly, stay, and sail package. it worked out very well for us. our room was not ready when we got there, but the very hard working maid had it ready shortly. the van picked us at the airport after only a short wait, next mroning took us to the ship at the time we had signed up for, and was there when we got off the ship to take us back to the airport...no waiting.

The Hyatt was a lovely property and the room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel employees were very accommodating and whenever we encountered one, we were asked if our stay was to our liking. Considering we were only there one day, it was impressive. The hotel restauant was a little pricey but there are lots of places to eat right across the street.

They did provide a shuttle to the pier which I believe was part of the package purchased thru Celebrity. It was a large, clean coach bus.

Flew in a day early of embark, stayed at Sheraton Gateway through Priceline.

Exc value, great bed pretty quiet for being basically on airport grounds.

Took shuttle from LAX to Hotel. There is a trolley(bus) that goes around the LAX airport area and takes passengers to Manhatten Beach area. A decent way to spend the day.

Day of cruise we took same shuttle back to LAX arrival area and took a Primetime van to San Pedro dock.

This may not be the best option, but certainly an option.

We will be staying at the Marriott Courtyard in Long Beach ($40 plus taxes throught Priceline). I think it will be about a $15 cab ride to the dock in San Pedro, but don't see how we can go wroing.

We stayed in the Best Western Sunrise, and it was fine. There is a very nice park along the harbor, and it is an easy walk down to see the port terminal. There was nothing special about the room, but it served its purpose. The restaurant next to the hotel was surprisingly good. The hotel also had a continental breakfast in the morning. It also had a free shuttle service to the ship.

If you are just looking for a place to spend the night before the cruise, the Best Western is a good bet. If you are looking for an experience, there are probably better choices.

Enjoy your cruise.

We stayed in the San Pedro Best Western on 1/28/06. It is a total dump, run down, dirty and poor service to the point we didn't even want to stay in the room, but there was no choice at that point. We have written hotel management and were told we would be hearing direct from that property, but nothing yet. I would strongly urge anyone to avoid this place.

Stayed at The Coast Long Beach. Nice hotel. great water front views. The city of Long beach has a great free shuttle bus service. Took a cab to the pier for about 20.00 with tip. Would stay there again.
