CruiseNext

Recommended Posts

I read the terms and conditions on it already but I'm still confused....It does say :

To redeem your CruiseNext Deposit(s) please call your Travel Professional or Norwegian Cruise Line at 1-866-234-7350. At the time of booking, you must advise your booking agent that you wish to apply your CruiseNext Deposit to the reservation.

If I wanted to use it at a certain big box store which is known for their hot dogs and chicken, would I need to call them in order to use it and have them book it for me opposed to doing it myself online? Is there any problem redeeming one with them? This big box store is offering better deals than competitors....

Additionally, I read on the terms and conditions:

A CND can only be applied to a new reservation and otherwise has no cash value and is not redeemable or exchangeable for cash. CND(s) are transferable to another guest at no charge.

My mom reserved a balcony cabin on the Bliss for 2024 for Alaska. If she already paid in full, could she cancel her cruise (I believe she is within the cancelation window), rebook it and use CruiseNext or does it not work  like that? Obviously she won't cancel and  rebook  if the cruise went up in price or if it isn't worth  her time to have to call up NCL (she booked on their website). She won't care about getting an  upgrade or obc. Since I'm hoping on going on a NCL next month I thought I could surprise her and buy her 1 to use towards the cruise that she is going on.

I've never dealt with the box store, I'd simply call and ask them.  The CNDs aren't that unusual, they should be able to answer very quickly/easily.

She already paid in full for a 2024 cruise?  That's early, but OK, whatever.  I think to use the CND, she'd have to cancel.  Again, she should call whomever she booked with to ask.

Be aware, if you are booking a balcony or above, 6 months or more in advance, you can use 2 CNDs.  So, if you have two and are giving one to Mom, but you are looking at the same 2024 cruise, you should be able to use both of yours on your cabin.  This is what's called the double up promotion and it generally is always available.

The only downside to cancelling/rebooking would be if the fare changed dramatically against you.  Also, I'm not sure whether rules differ if your mom isn't a US resident.

YEARS ago, I had a CAS rep who allowed me to post a CN to an existing reservation but I've also been shot down on that (as I recall, I called a couple times until someone said yes.)  That cruise wasn't fully paid in any case.  So you can try that but I'm not hopeful.

Expired 1/5 as far as I know

That is a shame, it was still active when I posted, it's down to double-up now from 6th January
