Anyone Upgrade with Blue Chip Club to an S1 Sky Suite ?

Hi ,

We were able to upgrade to an S1 Sky Suite. Just wondering if someone has experience with this type of upgrade.

1. We do not show as having a free drink package, wifi or gratuities' on our confirmation document - is that accurate that we will not receive these perks?

2. The rep did say that we would have access to the suite restaurant, the Retreat and the lounge - is this correct?

Also noticed on the e-mail confirmation there is a link within the body of the e-mail that states that we have all of the above, so we are a little confused.

We appreciate any insight.

In general upgrades from a BCC comped cabin don't include Always Included but there are exceptions to that based on sailing capacity and what was allotted to BCC. So it's best to call BCC and confirm whether you have Always Included.

You will be able to take advantage of all other Sky Suite amenities which includes the Retreat and Luminae. When you meet your room butler confirm how they want to work the in-room mini bar in terms of what beverages are included and what is charged; it seems butlers have some discretion on how they manage the in-room mini bar.

In terms of the the Retreat/Michael's Club (you didn't say what ship you're on) all drinks in the Club will be complimentary and you are welcome to take away the beverages in the refrigerated cases. If your ship has a Retreat Sundeck the policy is a bit trickier. Non Alcoholic beverages ordered from the wait staff at the Retreat sundeck will be complementary BUT the alcoholic drinks will be CHARGED.

If you are Elite and above the standard Elite HH drinks still apply, BUT in all cases you CANNOT get an alcoholic beverage in Luminae or any other dining room without charges.

We upgraded to Aqua Suite. May I ask how much it was to upgrade to the Sky Suite?  Would love to experience a Sky Suite, and this would be the perfect opportunity.

Thanks for the responses. It does seem tricky, we will be sailing on APEX and are Elite. We were originally in an Infinite Balcony and the timing was right to pay an upgrade fee and it was under 2k. We sail the end of December and I agree with many other posts that it depends on who you speak with. For us the fee was worth paying the extra and it will vary based on the sailing and capacity. As an example we are on Equinox in May and was only able to upgrade from a balcony to Concierge class the cost for this one was 200.00 for the 8 days for both of us.  I hope this helps.

We upgraded to a Sky suite from a balcony comp and DO have the premium drink pkg included, Free wi-fi, gratuities included and $300 OBC each

Go in your App and try doing a excursion or dining purchase to the end and see if it shows you having Obc to use

Also in my planner on the website when i clicked on purchased/booked items it shows the premium drink package but with a 0 cost

Hi Everyone,

I did not see any onboard credits when I tried to book an excursion, I am still trying to get through to Blue Chip and will update. We are not on a MoveUp offer, ours is a casino upgrade.  I did notice there is an asterisk on the Retreat e-mail detail for All Included that says: *Special fares and MoveUp upgrades from non-suite staterooms do not receive these amenities.

Just to be clear BCC comped cabins aren't eligible for bidding upgrades.

There was a change last year and they are now eligible (I know they were not originally eligible).  I have never received an email or been able to do it myself, but for my 3 BCC comped cruises at the end of last year, I emailed the move up email (from the celebrity move up webpage) with my name and reservation number and for each one I received a link, in a few days, with the offers to move up.  We were in Aqua in each case and the amounts seemed to be the same as I hear from people with paid cruises, but we never tried to bid, as we were happy with our comped aqua cabin and decided to not spend anything more on the cabin.

For the person that asked what is included to an upgrade, that will depend how the upgrade is done.  There are casino rates that sometimes include perks and I believe some that don't, you should ask BCC when you are asking about the upgrade.  If you do the Celebrity Move up process and are successful to get a suite, you get access to the retreat and Lumina, but you do not get the drink package, wifi, prepaid grats and OBC that come with an original suite booking (so, if you have no perks on your existing booking, you will still have none in the suite - I believe except with respect to some higher level suites that suggest in the move up email and website when you look at pricing that you do get those perks).  If you have, for example, classic drinks, basic wifi and some OBC on your existing booking, if you are successful on a move up bid, those stay with your booking.

So I booked a comped Aqua class 4 days ago and all I did was add the all inclusive package to the booking for the drinks/tips/wifi.  I got a move up offer yesterday.  I think the move up may be looking at any amount over the taxes to determine move up offers?
