Is High Tea Served?

Recommended Posts

Most of what has been described here is Afternoon tea not High tea.  The two are not synonymous. While they both include tea as a beverage, afternoon tea includes delicate pastries, little sandwiches, scones and cakes. Whereas high tea is typically a more wholesome meal of meat, potatoes and vegetables served after a long hard day at work.

Afternoon tea is a very British thing. We tend to eat later than Americans (typically 7, 7.30 or even 8pm) so need something to keep us going until dinner!

It’s a real tradition on Cunard.

And done beautifully!
