Cdncruisecpl Posted January 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2023 Booked on Reflection in March in AquaClass. Been on several cruises before, but this is first time on Reflection, and in fact first time with Celebrity. And this is the first one since Covid Looking to leverage the collective knowledge of the users on CC and learn and tips and tricks to get the most out of the cruise. Is there anything we shouldn't miss out on. Anything that can be skipped as not being worth it? Thank you!
Saturngrl Posted January 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2023 I love the Reflection! She is a great ship! There are so many things to enjoy about her. Off the top of my head: The treats in Cafe Al Bacio are free, but there is a charge for specialty coffees and teas offered there. The show at the Martini Bar is a must! I recommend upgrading your beverage package to Premium to enjoy the martinis there. The hallway leading to the Encore Lounge has bells that sound with your movement through there. The Sunset Bar has live music most afternoons and is a great place to hang out. Bocce tournaments are fun and competitive! The Lawn Club Grill is not to be missed! Well worth the upcharge. Le Petit Chef is fun to do once only. No smoking in the casino! The Hideaway offers free coffee and tea and is a good place to chill with a good book. The Spa Cafe offers light, healthier breakfast and lunch options. The Mast Grill offers great burgers and dogs and is open on Embarkation Day. I'm sure there will be lots of other great tips coming...this is just the tip of the iceberg! 6

Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted January 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2023 If you're okay with paying a little for food, on embarkation day lunch give sushi a shot Many, including myself find the Mast Grill very underwhelming...Burgers are bland and not worth the calories, RCL J.R.s and Guys burgers on Carnival does some great tasting burgers. The Mast Grills hot dogs are some of the worst food on the ship or simply inedible. The good news is its free, try for yourself once and decide if you want to go back

Wether it's worth upgrading to the beverage package depends entirely what and how much you drink over and above the Classic cost. As you only pay the difference in the cost not the full amount if it's just the odd drink far cheaper just to pay the difference.

Cruise a holic Posted January 19, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 19, 2023 Reflection is one of our favorite ships. We love the Lawn club grill and enjoy renting a cabana, especially if we are at a port not interested in. They really give you the royal treatment. Bring you a lunch for a limited menu. Includes a cheese platter and fruit platter when you want- a bottle of bubbly and water. If you have a drink package, all alcohol ordered is included, if not you pay per drink. A relaxing day. We typically sail in a suite and enjoy the Retreat lounge aka michael's club.
Pantheral Posted January 19, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 19, 2023 As a disclaimer, we last sailed Reflection in the Med in 2017, so things may have changed in the interim. We thoroughly enjoy our meals at the Lawn Club Grill, especially fun as a group and/or for a special event. Murano is also a great way to celebrate with a more formal dinner and Sushi on 5 is terrific and rarely ever crowded. At one point we enjoyed every bar on the ship depending on the time of day or mood (Sunset bar while leaving port, martini bar for pre-dinner fun, Ensemble Lounge for quiet and jazz...) Silent disco. Sounds and looks strange. Some don't care for it, but most love it once they try it, It's especially fun if they hold it in the Solarium. If you have a suite or Aqua class there are additional venues like Blu and Luminae that are also wonderful. Overall I find the ship's layout to be wonderful for a ship of her size and you rarely will feel crowded anywhere except at our near the Theatre at showtimes. ENJOY!!!

hampshirelad Posted January 19, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2023 Bear in mind there is no Retreat deck on Reflection and the Retreat Lounge is the old Michaels Club. Found that Cafe Al Bacio is constantly full. People are not drinking coffee, but reading books and falling asleep.

Just off Eclipse last week, and they routinely had ‘Sushi on 5’ set up with menus and staff for al Bacio during the busy periods, so we never had a problem finding a seat or getting served. Also on the old design you have a really nice above the bed storage cabinet- as long as you or you partner can reach it excellent storage.

First time celebrity cruiser - Just curious, We booked Concierge with a classic beverage package included- looks like drinks up to $10 are included, but noticed a lot of selections for drinks to be at $11 or up 😒 Can we ask if they can make a martini from the classic selection or do we have to choose the more expensive options listed at the different bars and pay difference? Also -does anyone know if specialty coffees at Cafe Al Bacio & waters, etc are included in classic package - I am assuming they are - again up to our cut off price? helen haywood Posted February 23, 2023 #15 Share Posted February 23, 2023 Re the Spa Cafe…misnomer. It’s outside the Spa. Has really nothing to do with the Spa. You don’t need an appointment…don’t have to have set foot in the Spa. There are tables for eating. Or you can take it to your cabin or lounge chair. pghalbs Posted February 23, 2023 #16 Share Posted February 23, 2023 Perfect - thank you! I like that there are healthy options there for bf & lunch as well as fresh juices & smoothies. Hoping all in included, but not too bad if not!
