Bo1953 Posted January 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2023 For all X passengers who board ships outside of the US and are not US citizens (okay US citizens can respond) ---- What is your anecdotal recollections or real life experiences with bringing soft drinks, water, seltzer, juice and the like aboard ship??? I have yet to read any post from those far flung places about this and was curious as there are currently a number of US postings concerning quantities and types of beverages which can be brought aboard in US ports. Cheers and bon voyage

Cheers and bon voyage I think the best answer is that its a crap shoot. The ultimate policy is set by each cruise line, but enforcement is not uniform. We have walked on ships (of many different lines) in Europe while carrying bottles/boxes of wine, Diet Soda, etc. and never had an issue. In fact, in some ports you can actually buy stuff right in the cruise terminals. But this is no guarantee that any particular ship (or the security folks at the entrance) will not confiscate stuff or insist you pay "corkage" fees for wine. jelayne Posted January 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2023 We never bring soda or water on when embarking. We have in brought 1 or 2 bottles of wine aboard and didn’t have in problem. Those were mainly Europe and Australia embarkations. We didn’t really consider bringing wine on in UAE, Hong Kong or Singapore.
