Best port (Valdez, Juneau, Skagway, or Ketchican) for seeing eagles and wildlife?

As Crew News mentioned, the Bering Sea Crab Fishermen’s tour in Ketchikan has more bald eagles than any other tour we’ve been on.  Juneau is the spot for humpback whale tours with guaranteed sightings. Depending on when you’ll be there, Valdez has frequent bear sightings at the Solomon Gulch Fish Hatchery when the salmon are running.

Love the Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's tour.  Have taken it a couple of times -- best part of the tour for us is the feeding of the bald eagles.  Had a hard time keeping up with the swooping eagles even while shooting in "sports mode."  Agree with Crew News and Glaciers -- good tour.

No need to go looking for eagles, they are everywhere.

This is correct. Most of us over 40 have grown up at a time when seeing eagles was a rarity. It took several decades after the DDT ban for the eagle population to recover. Now, bald eagles are no longer a uncommon.

Go Eagles!
