Got pulled out of line....

As we were about to exit the ship last morning last week.  We handed our room card to security for exit scanning.  He looked at them and said follow him, pointing to a security guard standing there.  The security guard, as we stepped out of line, said go into that rooms as he pointed to one nearby.  I thought has the FBI caught up with all my past sins, or had my wife been doing something bad on the sly.  I entered the room and the guy sitting at a table said sign the receipt and I'll refund your money.  I'm now really thinking "what the hell"!   Turns out I had some unused refundable OBC on my account.  I signed and he reached in a money drawer and handed me $33, and the security guard then escorted us back to number one in line again.   Ya never know.     Oh, was San Diego and going through immigrations, as we left the ship, no passports were required. They use face ID and it takes about 10 seconds.  Does speed up the process a bunch.

Sounds like it was handled better there than my experience on Encore in November.  Not a horrible experience, just a delay that seemed like it took longer than it needed to.

I tell people who may be in a rush to get off the ship (e.g. early flights) to be sure there is no leftover refundable credit on their account.

We were taken out of line once and scared us to death.  We had two grandchildren with bus and if they planned on taking us somewhere what we do with two little kids.lol

turns out we spent so much money they wanted to charge us some taxes. All of a sudden an emergency happened and the place had to be cleared out and they rapidly told us to forget it.

Once I received a message on the phone in my cabin to go to a specific desk in passenger services before disembarking. That was also for a cash refund.

surprised they don't mail you a check with the left over amount like what other cruise lines do

Would you prefer to wait , possibly for 6-8 weeks, to receive the check? In many large businesses, issuing a refund check requires multiple levels of approval even if the reason is obvious.
