Salsa 💃 dancing in old San Juan

Any idea of live music that includes salsa dancing near port in old San Juan

Tiana's has flamenco dancing on certain nights.  La Factoria, an old speakeasy next to La Torgua Bistro, has salsa dancing on certain nights, Saturdays and Mondays I think.

Most  Salsa clubs are in the Santurce area, not Old San Juan. You'll need a taxi, not sure the cost. ,Salsa lessons are given at  Santurce Salsa Club. Also the crowd kicks in at La Respuesta, and Taberna Laz Vazquez on ceratin nights.

One knows this is off piste, for which there is an apology.  
But this post brought back a happy memory.  
 

Decades ago.

During a RCL Christmas cruise out of San Juan, there was a Merengue Competition.  
 

A lady we met had just retired (was also professional Dancer) and treated her family to a cruise, together with her only Grandson.  
The Grandmother and her 14 year old Grandson entered, having never danced together before. They literally tore the floor up and won.  Many jaws hit the floor.

On the announcement, the lady fell to the floor and broke down in tears.  Admitted later that of all the competition wins, this was the best of the best, and she will relive that evening for the rest of her life and die happy.
