Does anyone know if RCCL's cruise care covers the flights if booked thru Royal.  Meaning if you cancel for any reason do you get 90% of your total vacation package?  And if you cancel for a covered reason do you get 100% cash back including the air?

Im guessing Ourusualbeach will know....

I'd like to know this answer as well since booking our Hawaii cruise for this September. We booked our flights through Royal's program. Where are you Ken @Ourusualbeach

Cruise care is only based on the cost of the cruise and not the flights, therefore it will not cover the cost of the flights.

So, what are the benefits, if any, of booking airfare through the cruise lines, such as air2sea? Thanks for your reply!

99% of the rates are refundable and cancellable up until final payment.  You don't pay until final payment.

Pretty sure you can't get that by booking direct with the airline.

hey will make efforts

Yes they will make efforts however it is not a guarantee.  If they can't get you there you are out not only the airfare but the cost of the cruise as well.  Definitely do not forgo purchasing insurance if purchasing A2S

@SilkySal Another benefit of Air2Sea is that they will make efforts to get you to the ship if flights are cancelled/delayed, etc.

The better question is what are the possible pitfalls.

I recommend going to the Cruise Air section of Cruise Critic and reading the thread I will link to. It is old and very long, but the information is very good and still relevant. After reading the thread you can make a more educated decision.
