All you have to do is write please No Hot wash or Dry on your order form. I always say Cold wash warm dry, please. My laundry had always been fine. That being said I don't send my delicate items.

I don't think they take special requests for the wash and fold bag laundry deals, VIFP or otherwise. You can write it on the sheet but I doubt it'll be honored. All the bags go into mesh bags and are all washed/dried in batches.

I use the service for washing my casino clothes to get the smoke smell out, and it ages my t-shirts by years. The printing is in tatters. But like you said I don't send out delicates.

I am finding it sad that u have to chase down all of your “ platinum “ perks . I mean anything that’s a platinum perk now you have to basically chase it down or order it or whatever. Except for laundry . U don’t even get free water unless u beg them to bring it to your room they actually charged me for it one cruise because I used one those bottles in the room . I have been platinum for like forever. But whatever it is what it is I guess.

i agree. it is hassle. Other cruise lines can place the platinum items in your room, why cant carnival do the same?

I like that it probably prevents some waste for the items that people don’t want.  If you want it you can still have it. Better than the perks going away completely.

OK,  but I can tell you I can see the difference. It's noticeable, try it. There is a space for special instructions.

I just returned from a cruise on the Celebration. The cruise was Sunday to Sunday.  We received the following invitation, which mentioned a free drink voucher:

VIFP Diamond and Platinum Gathering

Saturday, February 4, 2023

Grand Spectrum Theater, 7 Fwd

4:00 pm

Your membership in the VIFP Club comes with perks...like this invitation.

You and a guest are invited to meet your fellow Diamond and Platinum Club members at this exclusive gathering, where you'll each receive one complimentary glass of wine.

You'll also receive one voucher* for a beverage of your choice, which is added to your folio and can be redeemed with your Sail & Sign card at any bar starting one hour before the event.

See you there!

*Valued a $11.00

Time for my dumb question...

Are the laundry perks per person or per cabin? 3 bags on a 7 day, ok....if we are both platinum, do we each get 3 bags?

Per Platinum person, so yes, if you are both Platinum, you get 6 bags total for the week.

After reading this thread, I was beginning to think that the beverage voucher was a Mardi Gras thing because I received it on my October sailing. Now that I see this post, I understand why. The “party” was crowded so it gives you another opportunity to get your drink.

Well, I’m back from my first Platinum cruise and sadly, I forgot half of my perks. My son got Covid midway through and other than the water and a drink at brunch, that was it.  Didn’t get my pin, or gift, or chocolate. Didn’t go to the party as I mainly quarantined with him even though I wasn’t required to. I couldn’t see going to a party while he was sick in the cabin.

Just curious, how did you know he was positive? Did you bring tests or did you use the ship doctor? I'm debating on whether to bring tests but I wasn't sure if that was still appropriate.

Yuck! Which ship?

Based on my history with ye olde strawberry in-room treat plates, I'd call out the Liberty.   😮

Every time I've gotten the chocolate-covered strawberries -- from doing the Behind the Fun tour; they're an unofficial perk  -- they've been "dressed up" with white and dark chocolate, looking like they were wearing miniature tuxedos, EXCEPT on the Liberty, where they just dumped some chocolate around the strawberries and called it a day.   (That whole cruise was an "off" cruise for us dining-wise, including the worst MDR service we've ever had.)

You can request anything, the attendants will also say, "sure" but cold water wash is not honored since the water has to be hot enough to kill feces since the batches are very large.

For future cruises that you may decide to use the laundry perk, be aware that the wash is done in hot water, so be prepared with certain clothing items that hot water may be detrimental to.

Yup, on any cruise line I only send whites like t-shirts, undies and socks!   the rest I will hand-wash if needed.
