Thinking about taking a tour to the Hato Caves. The description says lots of stairs and I wondered if anyone had been there and how difficult is it to navigate?
Any input from someone that has been there would be appreciated!
Thanks!!

Would you say it was worth it to go there?

We did it on our own with a car rental and it wasn't that expensive to do it.  I would only do via bus or car rental or if combined with a beach afterwards.  It was nice but not worth a huge excursion bill if you understand what Im saying.  We liked it but we were in a group of 6 strangers who were also there with car rentals.  I saw the ship excursion and it was about 30 people?

We did the caves before COVID.  They are above ground and the big difference depending on the day and time is that they can get very warm 80 degrees + and are very humid.  That makes a perfect recipe for mold and mildew.  They have fans blowing the air around to keep it cool.  I ended up with such a bad sinus infection that had to get an Rx from ships medical.
