PerfectlyPerth Posted January 30, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2023 Personally I avoid the sun so it's never been an issue for me. Solo cream applicators are always appearing in my Insta feed. Things like this one. https://shop.bakslap.com/products/bakslap-lotion-applicator If you do a google search for "sunscreen back applicator" you will see various similar products. Snoopkat Posted January 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2023 I have a solo cruise coming up next week. I am packing 2 swim dresses which mostly cover the back so probably no sunscreen needed there. Will also likely use the solarium pool more than the outdoor pool. Alternatively, you can always ask someone (female) to rub in your sunscreen for you. Most women (myself included) are happy to oblige.
Rare KKB Posted January 31, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2023 I got something like this. Lightweight & packs easy. https://www.amazon.com/EUPHNY-Self-Back-Lotion-Applicators/dp/B084MCX234/ref=sr_1_10?crid=1BOMD8HK1J3N1&keywords=sunscreen%2Blotion%2Bapplicator&qid=1675125798&sprefix=sunscreen%2Blotion%2Bapp%2Caps%2C110&sr=8-10&th=1
bluetardis Posted January 31, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2023 I use spray sunscreen, easy to apply to your back and no need to rub it in. It drys quickly.

The trick is to spray it when somewhere sheltered and ideally the first application should be 30mins before you go outdoors.

Yeah tried that. Impossible to know when you miss spots. The applicator isn't perfect either, but got a better chance of not missing much.
niknot Posted February 17, 2023 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2023 Rash guards might be an option too. They work great for me while snorkeling.

Even if you can't get full coverage on your back alone, I'd think a spray would be far more comfortable asking someone else to do than having a stranger rub lotion directly into your skin.
