Hi everyone.  Jumping over here from the Celebrity side.  Seeing reports of the ship's bars closing while in Grand Cayman?  We stay on the ship since we have been here many, many times.  Just wondering what the experience has been on Royal?  Thank you!

Just off the Brilliance which ported in Grand Cayman Tuesday (2/7).  Yes, all bars were closed until 6pm EXCEPT the Pool Bar, which was mobbed by 4pm but there were  at least 5 bartenders and drinks were served quickly.  We had Early Dining (5:30pm) and were able to order drinks from the dining wait staff upon arriving, which were delivered by 5:40pm.

We had the same issue when we were on the Radiance last month.  The only bar that was open was the pool bar and there were some folks that had paid for the drink package and they were complaining a lot.

Currently on Apex today in Grand Cayman from 10am until 5pm. All bars are closed until 4:30pm except for the pool bar.

That was our experience also on our March Apex cruise. I was told the bar in the Oceanview Cafe was open but didn't check it out.

From Cruise Compass Tuesday, April 18th on Odyssey:

Limited Bars Open Hour

Due to Grand Cayman regulations, only one bar may serve alcoholic beverages whilst docked.  Coffee and soft drink serving outlets, as well as Coco-Cola freestyle machines, will operate as normal.  Alcoholic beverages will be served at The Lime & Coconut bar, with resumption of normal service in all bars on departure from Grand Cayman.

As it turned out, storms the previous day caused unsafe swells.  Despite an attempt to locate a safer docking area, the port was scrapped and another sea day was added.
