Recent Cruisers on Soltice

How did you find  the food selections & quality in the MDR & OVC  ?  How were the special restaurants quality & service ? 

how were the main theatre shows ?

Did B2B in January and had a great time.  Our meals were in Blu which I really enjoy due to size, large windows and ship being half full.  We did eat a bit at OVC and the food was fine to nice, I have an idea what not to get from a steam tray and we could find plenty to eat.  The ice cream is excellent.  We did check out OVC for dinner and the selection has been pared down - pasta, pizza, salad bar, breads and desserts as well as a hot food station.  Our dinner at Raw on 5 was delicious. Tuscan is usually a favorite but it fell a bit flat this cruise- lack luster waiter, food was fine (bronzino was excellent) but portions too large, and the waiter was the only crew to beg for rating.  The quartet Barricade Boys were terrific, Broadway show tunes was okay and DH really enjoyed the Rock Show.

We disembarked from Solstice yesterday. Of all of our cruises (across multiple lines and including many on Celebrity) this was our worst MDR experience hands down. The menus were underwhelming and the food was lackluster. It made us regret not booking Aqua Class and having access to Blu.

We ate in Sushi on 5 and also Tuscan Grille. The food was excellent in both. We received the best service of the cruise in Tuscan. Excellent waiter who could not possibly do enough to ensure we were satisfied! We ended up eating in Tuscan out of desperation one night after viewing the MDR menu and not being in the mood to experience it after a few nights of disappointing MDR experiences. We walked up to the host stand and asked if they had any availability for us and they were able to seat us right away, thankfully!
