Discovery Princess booking entertainment?

New to Princess!  Are you unable to reserve entertainment (production shows) or ensure your entry to a show unless you go with the “Best” package?  Is it just line up, first come, first serve?  We are on Discovery Princess in April.  Just used to NCL pre-booking these things…

No pre-booking of entertainment. If you purchase the premier fare then there are some reserved seats available for production shows.

It's first come, first seated unless you are in the reserved section dedicated to the folks who have the Premier package. On the Sky last week, the theaters were jammed for the big production shows, so if you wanted a good selection of seats to choose from, you have to arrive at least 30 minutes prior.  There is never any "lining up", just enter the theater and look for suitable seats as the theater fills up.

If you don't drink the best package isn't an option. I usually go to the early show and arrive 20 minutes early to get seats. The late show usually is less attended and usually easier to get seats where you want them.
