Relaxing beach to go to in Nassau? And Coco Cay Questions?

What is a good place to look for beaches to visit or Book for Nassau? My cruise isnt offering much as far as that goes (RC)?

Also most of anything of interest for my RC cruise to Coco Cay is booked up - just wanting to relax on a beach there, drinks, etc. Can you just walk up to any beach and chill?

Yes, most beaches and man made beaches are free. Don't know the ages of the people involved, but look into Adastra Gardens with it's flamingo show or Fish Fry for food and beers.

Margaritaville is an easy walk and I'm sure they include access to their beach area with a waterpark pass. Baha Mar is a ride out of town and I'm not sure of the beach access there. We have had a wonderful time at Junkanoo before, but it is the opposite of a relaxing beach and some people consider it sketchy or dirty (not us).

For Coco Cay, just walk up to any beach and grab and lounger and enjoy. I recommend South Beach on the island if you want a quieter place. Take the tram or a fifteen minute walk. Enjoy the floating bar out there as it is great to swim up and grab a drink. As a bonus, the drink package for Royal works on Coco Cay if you have it; so enjoy those Coco Locos!

I’d assume baha mar would have a nicer beach, but would also assume a higher price over margaritaville.

We went to Junkanoo last August and plan to go back this August.  It is a decent beach close to the port.  From what I've read, a couple of the beaches do not even have restrooms.

Junkanoo is ok and a close option you can walk to.

Goodman’s Bay is a short jitney ride ($1.25/pp, exact change) and a better choice. You can hop a #10 bus where they pick up and drop off at Bay and Frederick Sts. The buses stop to return you to the cruise dock.

We just stayed next to Baha Mar and the Melia (still closed) for two weeks and they were bringing sand in every day by the truck loads. The beach in front of our property was nonexistent, but in front of the Melia (which is still closed) we had a small beach all to ourselves. Not sure if Baha Mar offers day passes, you can check. There is no public beach access on that section of Cable Beach that we know of. There is a public beach access next to Sandals, but no amenities that we saw…

They do offer day passes.

I know they offer day passes (limited numbers) to Baha Bay (the water park) for $160/adult (those over 48”), $65 for those under 48”. You also have access to the public areas (casino, restaurants). Last I knew they did not provide access to the beach lounges and other guest facilities to day visitors. Perhaps that has changed?

I looked at the pass on resort for a day, it says beach access but it seems like it’s a beach by the waterpark and not the resort. A reviewer said they enjoyed the beach.
