Drinks on Us! Included while playing in the casino for you and a guest. - How does this work?

We booked a cruise with 2 rooms on the Carnival Panorama and sinc we have minor 2 kids we had to book myself in the first room, and my wife in the other.  As part of the casino offer my wife booked under, she had the following offer "Drinks on Us! Included while playing in the casino for you and a guest." However, who qualifies as the "guest"? Is that the 2nd person in the cabin which means I can't use it can she designate me as the other adult? I haven't found anything in the terms.

It's the second person in the cabin, but in your case, the onboard casino host would likely make an exception.

Good luck with that..you’d of honestly had (or will have if you haven’t sailed) better luck calling the casino dept and having them code the other drink package to you..otherwise in the T&C’s, it says if the other person in the room is under 21; they’ll get the Soda package.

we recently went through this..because my and i have drink packages, but only for one (we both have the same offer) casino dept said they couldn’t help us..so we just said fuxk you..and booked two rooms and invited our cruise friends hahahaha

So instead of just losing revenue to one room and two drink packages..now they’re losing a separate room revenue…this is what happens when companies employee people whom they have no faith in..so they give them no authority except to push the button…couldn’t we replace them with robots?

It never hurts to ask the host once you board. It seems like a reasonable request. I personally have not had good luck with getting them to extend comps like this, but I've not been in this particular situation.

I would also try to put the kids in a connecting room so there would be no issue with the drinks. But just for free drinks in the casino, not sure I would worry about it. The required points are pretty easy to obtain, and your wife could always order for you.  More often than not, when I am getting free drinks in the casino and hubby is with me, they just bring him free drinks too.

Not sure if your plan to book a second room really hit the company hard.  The casino comp rooms are forecasted ahead of time, with a certain number of rooms.  So if you hadn't of booked that room, another casino comp would have, not a full-revenue paying passenger.  Not sure if Carnival is really mad about it.  If anything, you filled a comp room for them, just as planned.

I've heard the whole "we both have the same offer, can we both have the drinks" is pretty hit and miss, but I've had great experiences talking to the casino host onboard.  I'm sure it depends on the host, but the people I've worked with have been very pleasant.

Every time I’ve spoken to a host on a carnival ship mentioning the word “comps” they seem to have no idea what I’m talking about.
then again; in countries outside of the US; I don’t think casinos have a concept of a “host”

I had the same question when I spoke with the Casino person on the phone. They said for the person who has the offer to take a second person to the cage with them and designate them as the "Companion". That they could designate anyone that they wanted. We were curious because we have three people in our room.

I sure hope this works out.

The offer I have with DOU for me and a companion states this in the terms and conditions:

Drinks benefit is valid for the eligible VIFP Club Member and one travel companion (assigned to the same stateroom).

So I hope OP reports back and lets us know what the casino host says.

I will! We all have cheers so I am hoping it works for one of our children. In our other room both had casino offers with free drinks. Supposedly the casino rep noted it in the file so both can get their drinks in the casino. Has anyone had any experience with that?

Yes I have had that, if my wife and I both have the same offer on our account at the time of booking then we'll both receive our comps. DOU, FunPlay, etc.

Thank you! We are prepared in case it doesn’t work out and will have a good time either way!

Just because your kids are minors doesn’t mean they can’t have their own room.

They do have to be within a certain number of doors of yours though.

We’ve always put our boys in a separate room.

Unfotunately my kids don't have my same VIFP level so if I don't book myself in their room the rates go up quite a bit. Catch-22!

Oh well, I was also turning platinum on this cruise but my wife is 1 week behind in points so I won't get to enjoy priority boarding either as I won't get on without the rest of the family (my youngest daughter could go with me, though!). Another perk I lose...booo!

Pretty sure your whole party can board with you?

If you’re turning plat on this cruise, your entire family boards with you, regardless of whether they’re in a separate room.

I was Plat way before my family. Carnival told me “we are not in the business of splitting up families”  so have them with you.

Enjoy and don’t forget to get your $25 from the casino.😁

If that's the case, then I am a happy camper! Are we sure of this? I guess when I check-in it should show us as Priority? I assume they would also get to join me in the Platinum lounge in Long Beach? I DEFINITELY will get my $25 in the casino and the $5 arcade credit for my kids!

Yes. I’m sure.
Yes. You all can go in the lounge.

No. You’re not priority.   Priority is for suites.  And Weddings.  Unless you and wife booked a suite?

Only your boarding pass will say platinum.  So put yours on top when showing them to people.

You can print off your luggage tag 4 times so they say “platinum” with your name on each luggage.  I would print 2 tags for each piece myself because I am OCD.

Pretty much exactly as it says. While you are actively playing in the casino (not the casino bar), the waiters/waitresses will bring you a drink the same as Cheers. Since you are not in the same cabin, you will not get the benefit. You would need to get in the same cabin for the benefit.
