I submitted last week and did have a casino deal. The room was not one of the $100 rooms but was discounted. I did receive the shareholder OBC.

Just a data point for reference:
I submitted my shareholder claim on 3/13 (at night time) and was approved on 3/15 for my November cruise.  So claims are being handled very quickly at the moment.

Same here! For my May 2023 cruise and I don't have a casino offer.😄

For those of you rejected for having casino offers - are you talking about a free or seriously discounted rate, or does that apply to the casino rates as well?

Had $100 offer with $100 obc.I guess they consider it a free cruise.Still pay port charges and taxes. Some have posted they got shareholders credit with that offer. My first try was refused in a couple of days.Resubmitted but have not heard back.

I guess it just drives home the fact that nobody should buy stocks just for a perk that could be rescinded or re-interpreted at any time.

It's exactly why we bought it.  Nobody should buy stocks with money they need just for perks.  For us, we spent "unexpected winfall" money.  Years ago was gifted Disney, Victoria's Secret, and Wrigley's for the same reason (but they don't give the perks any more.)

Carnival isn't going to take away the benefit - that $250 of OBC probably has a real cost of less than $50; and it's good for retention.

They may not take away the benefit, but all they have to do is further re-interpret what "reduced rate" means and all of a sudden nobody is eligible for the credit anymore because nobody pays brochure rates.

I doubt it.  The OBC costs them little, and retains their customer base (mostly).

It costs them enough to take it away from some of their most loyal guests - casino players. So it's a matter of time as I see it.

The world may end yesterday, but the odds are slim and none. Rates available to all will always be included, just as they are for price matching

You always need to pay port charges and taxes.  Your 100 in OBC covers the 100 you were charged, so "they" would consider it a free cruise because the wash indicates that you paid zero, so this it is indeed a free cruise and you can use the OBC towards your gratuities.  Unlike on NCL, where you can't.

Do you really think you're entitled to an extra hundred in stock OBC on a cruise you paid zero for?

I took my "free" cruise last week on a casino promotion.  Carnival made gangbusters money off of me.  The $50 benefit is nothing to them but it would be a nice gesture to me.  Entitled is a strong word.  The casino gets that $50 back from me exponentially.  I'm a shareholder and haven't ever put in for the benefit.  I always forget.

Have you ever made money off of the casino?

Yes it certainly is.  Similar to all of the bragging done by gamblers about the free or greatly reduced rates they get and then crying because they don't get the extra kicker of additional OBC on top of it.

I don't brag about the rates I get from the casino.  I'm also a shareholder and I've never submitted for the OBC.  You have to remember that the casino rates are given to those that have a record of spending money in the casino.  That means my free or reduced rate cabin costs me much more than what someone that paid the regular rate for it.  If I didn't give them thousands of dollars a cruise in the casino, they wouldn't give me a reduced rate.  I cruise and I gamble.  Those are my hobbies.  I save up and I spend it in the casino.  Last week on my 5 day cruise I got a free room, drinks all over the ship and some free play.  My bill at the end of the week could have bought me two or 3 cabins at full price.  It's all about the money.  A $50 OBC to someone that's definitely going to pay for it and then some is a nice gesture.  But again, I've never submitted for it so I'm not complaining about not getting it.
