"Salad to Go" from buffet area?

While I am on the Royal in a couple of weeks, can I make myself a big salad to go? Are you allowed to take food oout of the buffet at all?

yes, you may take food from the buffet...

Yes, you can take food to your cabin.  We do it all the time.  You can use the tray under your ice bucket to make it easier.  Some clever folks actually purchase an inexpensive tray from the dollar store to take with them.  We like to sit on our balcony with some wine and a few nibbles.

I believe it was NCL a while back that came up with a rule saying no food allowed out of the buffet area, That decision lasted about 2 weeks. 😄

Yes, the Royal class ships have the giant acrylic bowls for salads. Bring disposable new shower cap to cover during transport.

I am trying to come up with specific ideas to make my cruise a little leaner!

Congratulations on your weight loss!  I’ve also been a member of WW a few years ago and it really does help put you on the road to better eating habits.  You can still stay within your allowed points with some creative planning and good judgement.  Have a fabulous time on your cruise!

you can also order steamed vegetables as a side every night in the MDR & entrees without the sauces or sauces on the side...I would order any MDR salads with the dressing on the side as (at least on the Crown currently) they tend to over dress them

 

they have several salads in the dine my way delivery menu as well
