For an inside stateroom at the back of the ship- which level is best?

Best is kind of subjective. Everyone's best will be different but here are some things to think about. Lower decks are better if you're prone to sea sickness, and closer to the Piazza area which has entertainment, food and drinks. The higher decks are closer to the Lido area which has pools, entertainment, food and drinks.

Or try and choose a deck in the middle of those two for easy access to both and it will be quieter, with cabins above & below you.

We had an inside sideways on Sapphire Princess and loved it.   Was under the pool deck but we never had any issues with noise.   It is the only type of inside where we will have a Queen bed rather than twin beds.

We love inside cabins (Great for those afternoon naps for us old folks 🤣) the only thing I had against the sideways one was when I get up at 4:30am and try to leave to let DW sleep, the light would shine right in her eyes. As far as being bigger, I didn't see any difference. Just my 2 cents worth (which is all I can afford).
