clginal Posted March 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2023 sorry, I probably can find this somewhere but, have a time issue so, thought I would just ask. Do we need water shoes for these places? We don't go off exploring....just the main areas of the beach at Half Moon. And Blue Lagoon we purchased the dolphin swim w/blow up play area. TIA!! mz-s Posted March 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2023 I always wear and recommend them but you don't really need them at these places I don't think.
Rare 1025cruise Posted March 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2023 I think with the dolphin swim you'll be asked to remove them.
klfrodo Posted March 20, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2023 I would recommend them
clginal Posted March 20, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted March 20, 2023 I always wear too......and for dolphin swim, they did have us remove. But, my adult kids are asking if they are completely necessary, I didn't go in the water at Blue Lagoon by the floating inflatable stuff to play on. And it's been years since I went to Half Moon & don't really remember it being rocky

Rare EngIceDave Posted March 20, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2023 Everyone should also know the stingray shuffle when walking in the ocean
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted March 21, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Half moon cay we use sandals or crocs and take them off when we go into the ocean. We leave our water shoes on the ship. It's the softest sand you could imagine. But, it can be impossible to wash out of water shoes.
d-train Posted March 21, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Two of my favorite places! no need for water shoes at either.
jerseyjjs Posted March 21, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Half Moon Cay is a very soft, smooth sandy bottom. Absolutely no need for water shoes there.
Mic101680 Posted March 21, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2023 I always pack them because they don't take much room and you never know. I've been to beaches before where people swear they're not needed and I wish I had them, and I've been to beaches where I've had them and not needed them. I'd rather the second occur because trying to find and buy them in my size can be difficult, especially in the Caribbean. Plus, they're generally fairly comfortable and stay on my feet better than flip flops.

That amazing sand really does get everywhere, and everything you bring will have to be cleaned out. And water shoes are the worst for half moon cay sand.
