Beach, snorkeling, and more on Freeport

My wife, daughter, and I greatly enjoyed our day at Paradise Cove Resort while in Freeport 3/25. We booked online (https://deadmansreef.com/).  Barry was very easy to work with; communication was easy with prompt  responses to email communication, clear instructions, and great service on the day of the excursion.  It was about a 20 minute drive from the port, and since we booked online ahead of time transportation to Paradise cove and back to the port by taxi was included.    The facilities at Paradise cove are not fancy but are comfortable and adequate.  There is a snack bar/lunch counter with burgers, chicken sandwiches, conch fritters, etc and a bar with reasonably priced tropical drinks.  Their "Bahama Papa" was really yummy and the mango daquiri delicious and generous.  There were covered eating areas with picnic tables overlooking the beach.  The beach was very nice, with little development on either side making the area a great escape from the crowds.  We walked along the beach to both sides of Paradise Cove, and were the only ones on the beach along here.   We rented chairs and umbrellas, and planned to kayak but it was too windy.  The day of our visit, the winds had kicked up enough waves to make the water murky.  I imagine the snorkeling is great when the seas are more calm. They have created an artificial reef of concrete balls with holes to shelter fish, and there was a good number of fish in and around this area in shallow water, so even with the murky conditions a large number of a limited variety of fish could be seen.  I'm sure the number and variety of visible fish is  much greater when the water is more clear.  Several people in our group saw stingrays, and if you swim out to the natural reef further out there were many turtles. We greatly enjoyed sitting on the beach looking out at the beautiful turquoise waters and watching waves crashing on the reef.  It was a great excursion and we will definitely return next time we are in Freeport.

We also really enjoyed our time here.
The day we were there the tide was out so it was a long walk out to the water and kind of tough.  It wasn't rocky, more like one giant rock that was uneven.
It was a clear day for snorkelling and it was amazing. I paid $10 or $20 for a private guide and we went out past the breakers.  Incredible snorkelling.
The beach is small but it was definitely the highlight of our trip.  I got to see my first sea turtle and saw so many other things.

I have invested in snorkeling socks after too many times walking on rocks in Bonaire, Cozumel, and other places.  It makes a huge difference.  Glad to read this.  Did the resort pick you up or did you take a cab?

I took their van. It was a full house and pretty close quarters but the driver was friendly and gave some info about the area.

I can second the OP on this being a great place.  We actually went here in October 2023 via rental car and did a paygo method.  Nicest family that runs this place.  Snorkeling was great.  We are coming here every time we come back to Freeport.
