" I arrived at Bimini island in the Bahamas around 7:30 AM. Everything shuts down on board from 11 to 6 because the crew leaves the ship to serve you at the beach club. "

Hope this isn't true because we were planning to spend half a day relaxing onboard.

No. One restaurant won't be open that day/night because the staff of that restaurant works the beach club.

The rest of the stuff is typical of a port day on any other ship -- casinos/bars*?/shops closed.

(*I just realized I have no idea if bars are closed when in port because I don't really drink much.)

There will be fewer bar staff at the pool bar onboard as they are at the bars at Bimini instead, as most people will go sit by the beach club pool instead.

Razzle Dazzle offers brunch but is closed for dinner that night, as their staff do the lunch service at the beach club.

So you might noticed reduced service onboard if you choose not to go to the beach club, but that’s because there is far more passengers at the beach club than on the ship!

The services on the ship remain as if it were any other port day.  That means the shops are closed and there are fewer people working at the bars and some of the food outlets.   They don't need as many people at the other food outlets as most people are on the island.  However, the outlets remain open,  Razzle Dazzle serves breakfast, but then those personnel go to work on the island.

that's how it had been the first few times we were on, but the last couple times we noticed that razzle was definitely open on bimini night!

That's why I didn't mention RD for dinner.  It was open every evening on our last cruise, but I wasn't sure if this was the new normal.  Very early on, the ship stayed at Bimini well into the evening, so that might explain why RD used to be closed.

In a prior cruise with a fuller ship RD was open that night.  New RD waiter friend said they needed to be open due to the increase in pax count to make sure everyone could get into a restaurant, more options.

I wouldn't say the ship shuts down as much as it feels like a ghost town since most guests are off the ship. The bars are still open, I had a drink and watched all the guests file off the ferry that comes in from Miami I think?  It was parked right next to us.

Based on my personal experience though I wouldn't recommend Razzle Dazzle when in Bimini-  I think the regular staff still goes to the island and they fill in with other staff - it was VERY slow and unorganized for brunch that day and the Churros had been sitting forever and were pretty much not edible.  Lunch at the Galley was great though - nice and calm and chill.

I like heading over to the beach after lunch and seeing some of the pool party and then just walking along the shore. They also have very nice covered seating areas where it's nice to relax. Plus the tram ride through the island is kinda fun haha.

I might walk around the Fisherman's village a bit on my next visit.

It's a perfect time for 'relaxing on board'.  The pool area is quiet with lounge chairs a plenty.

Not much difference on the ship between Bimini Day and sea days.  I've done 5 cruises this year and only got off in Bimini once for a look see...  I'm not a sandy beach person I want right back to the ship.

As mentioned above, the casino and onboard shops are closed but neither of those are relaxing anyway 🙂

There is still lots to do onboard and you won't believe how quiet it is!
