RELS Posted April 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2023 My June cruise is stopping one day (9 hrs) in La Goulette (Tunis). There will be shopping opportunities on my ship-led shore excursion, and I know that using dinars will allow me to shop more places, since cash is king in Tunisia. I can get a lot of info on getting Tunisian Dinar for people flying in, but what about for cruisers, especially day-tripping cruisers. Does anyone have experience with this? TIA! No experience yet but our plan for later this year is to get local cash from an ATM - that is how we always get local cash and never had a problem yet. Rare cruisemom42 Posted April 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2023 It’s been a few years since I was there (just after Arab Spring), but I recall the La Goulette port facility being modern and nice with a money exchange point. I don’t recall whether or not they also had an ATM.
