Emerald Princess- Planks and Steamers

The app deck plans show these two restaurants as still being in place on the ship, but I see no mention of them still being open.  Are they still there, or has something replaced them or will something replace them?  We were hoping for more specialty dining options for our two week cruise later this year.

I was on the ship for most of November. The ship had just gone through being refurbed. The signs are still there but there was no food service in the area. I would have thought if they were eliminating it, that the signs would have been taken down.

Bringing back Steamers has probably been delayed due to the stuff hitting the fan with crab prices.  The market is a mess right now.

We thought it was also related to not having enough staff to fill the ships. Probably a combination of things.

Does anyone know if they brought them back?

Was on the ship last month 1st-16th of April. Planks and Steamers was not open. In fact a lot of people used that area for extra seating for eating in the world fresh buffet and used that area to play cards and dominoes.

They could increase the price just like they did for the specialty restaurants.

They might break even if they doubled them.  You could give someone a whole Maine lobster for the price of single red king leg at the moment and still be money ahead.

There will be sold out Emerald voyages out of the Los Angeles area coming up soon throughout the summer, so maybe they will reopen? Los Angeles cruisers have deep pockets, if it's going to open, it will open then. If it doesn't, they'll be permanently closed.

We just boarded the Emerald in LA. Ship is full, but neither Planks nor Steamers appear to be open, and they’re not listed in the app under casual dining options. 🙁
