hartskys Posted April 25, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2023 There is just 2 of us and looking for transportation from MCO to Port Canaveral Hotel. Tried GoPort but there is no way to reserve Airport to hotel then after the cruise we are looking for the Port back to MCO airport hotel. Any suggestions? We already have our hotels. SteerageJoe Posted April 25, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) Unfortunately most of the shuttles mentioned here won’t work for you! They are good but not in your case! Can you confirm you want? 1. MCO to Cape Canaveral Hotel then Port Canaveral the next day 2. Port Canaveral to MCO Hotel then MCO the next day which hotels and time of time are also important. Many vans do not run after dark it looks like Uber is your best bet but you can do things like shared shuttle Port to MCO and free shuttle to the hotel, etc but it depends on which hotels! TSUmom Posted April 26, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2023 We have run into this problem also. Looking into a private transfer from MCO to Springhill Suites Cape Canaveral with Cruise Control. It is a bit pricey at $110 for two. We are then taking the post cruise excursion to KSC with airport drop off and have reserved a room at the hotel inside MCO flying home the next morning. Rare BoozinCroozin Posted April 27, 2023 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2023 There is nothing cost effective for a 45 minute run. Mainly because it will be a 45-minute run back to Orlando most likely without passengers. That is the problem with heading out to the port area after the early morning. Uber/Lyft drivers are not keen on taking them because they make more with the 5 mile trips all around the jam packed Orlando area. People needing rides every 5 minutes. If cost is your concern, I would cancel the Cape Canaveral hotel, get a much cheaper place near MCO within walking distance of restaurants (or even Uber for cheap), then take a shuttle the next morning. The shuttle and hotel near MCO will most likely be less than the cost of the hotel in Cape Canaveral.
SteerageJoe Posted April 27, 2023 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2023 Taking Uber between Orlando and the Port Canaveral area is perfectly fine and acceptable. If the trip is available in the App you can book it. Drivers can see the destination and accept the ride if they want it. This is a new feature in Uber announced in mid 2022 Riders can also still txt the driver after acceptance to make sure all is good. https://www.uber.com/newsroom/only-on-uber/ 1
LuvCruiSun Posted May 6, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 6, 2023 We took an Uber from MCO to our Cocoa Beach hotel the other night and it was $65. We only waited 2 minutes for the ride.
TNCruiser72 Posted May 15, 2023 #10 Share Posted May 15, 2023 We are probably going to stay in the Orlando area a couple of nights before our cruise. I assume the best way for Uber/Lyft to take us to the port is to schedule it a few days early to take us to make sure we get a ride. Our cruise is over a year out so we are just in the early planning stages. I assume there is a shuttle we can rent to get us from port to MCO following the cruise?
