We fly in to Rome but are going straight to Civitavecchia and would welcome any suggestions about how to get there please?  We have visited Rome several times so decided to stay near the port this time.

Many thanks.

The providers you've used in the past for transfers from FCO to your Rome hotel and Rome to Civitavecchia will work for FCO to Civitavecchia.  A search of this forum will return a wealth of good suggestions.

Unfortunately the latest shared shuttle is 12.30 and our flight doesn’t land until 1.30 pm

Thanks all for your help. Seems like a taxi from the airport may be the best option.

CivitavecchiaPort.org lets you create shared groups even after 12:30 PM, the problem is that the later the collection time, and the harder it is to find someone interested in sharing, but they say they won’t abandon you. If no one joins your group, they send you a private car at a discounted price.

Maybe it looks like what you’re looking for

Thank you so much for that information. We will try it! I’ll let you know how we get on. 👍🏻

We've used Tiber Limo multiple times from ship to FCO, hotels to ship, ship to downtown Rome and have been very happy.  Don't let the limo name fool you.  They use vehicles based on the size of your party and luggage.  They're very responsive to emails and you can get a quote prior to booking.

  • 3 weeks later...

We booked the Hotel Traiano for two nights prior to our 29 October 2023 TA to Miami on the RCI Explorer OTS.

After booking, the hotel sent us an email advising that they can book a private shuttle from FCO at 120 euros for two people (also quoted prices for more than two people).  We like the idea of having the hotel book this for us but we wonder if the quality of the car will be up to standards.

Maybe we should inquire what shuttle/taxi service the hotel uses.
