MDR classier than the Carnival fleet, not as fun. But the roaming magician is fun.

Can honestly say I cannot stand the roaming magician which is another reason I never eat in MDR anymore.

Hi cruisers, nobody discouraged me from posting, or hurt my feelings or anything like that. On the night before I posted the post about Jay Leno, I played in the casino and got toasty, then at 330am got pizza, and then ran into some people eating pizza and playing cards on Lido near my cabin, so I joined in. I probably got to sleep around 6am, which is very late for me even on a cruise. I close the casino down fairly often, but then it's pizza and bedtime. Next morning I hear the announcement about Jay Leno and in my hazy daze I got my phone to post it without getting my glasses. On the phone it opened up to the post area below the last post so I just posted it. Then I scrolled up and saw I had defaulted to Saint Greg's thread, realized my mistake and posted it to my own thread.  I woke up a second time around noon and was auto-logged out, then when I tried to log in I got two messages - the first saying I was suspended, the second saying I was revoked. No mention of which post, but the reason given was "nuisance post".

I'm not going to go back and post pics from every day, but there I'll touch on some highlights, like the best scallops in the world in Halifax (was it Bunnyette who suggested Digby Scallops at Bicycle Thief?  BINGO, they were the best scallops I've ever had so whoever it was THANK YOU!).  When I exclaimed about them to the server, he matter-of-factly stated "yeah, they're the best in the world, just Google it".  I'll post pics from Halifax and NYC when I get cleared.

With me being away for 5 weeks and home just a 2.5 hour train ride away,  I canceled NYC for tomorrow and am taking the train home today. Manhattan was my favorite port on this cruise, by a longshot. I left my phone charging for my stops midtown during the day, but did capture these moments.  Dim sum in Chinatown and dinner at Le Grande Boucherie.  In the last pic below you can see the New Year's Times Square ball if you zoom in.

I'm glad you are back, sorry we missed following along and sad that my view of some aspects of the world have proved overly optimistic.

On board! Reminds me more of a MSC ship than Carnival ship. The "fun" is apparent with the staff being outgoing and encouraging a party atmosphere.  The decor is over the top Venice. Public area decor reminds me alot of Pride.  I was allowed to bring whiskey onboard.

Hi there. We are thinking of going on this ship next May. I see you said you were allowed to bring whiskey on board is that normal for Carnival. My husband loves whiskey and would bring it if it was allowed.

Thanks
