Please help me understand the Unlimited Soda Package

On POA next month and wondering if I should I purchase this package for our kiddos? (The adults in our group have the Hawaii beverage package, and if it matters, we're all in suites.)

Without this package are the kids actually charged for sodas or juices in all of the restaurants (even the buffet?)

Your results might be "hit or miss."  But, yes possibly, NCL will be charging for the kiddos drinks.

I tried to book for the kids and the NCL site wouldn’t let me. It only brought up the option for the adults in the cabin. That’s absurd since the adults already have the Hawaii beverage package.

Guess I'll have to call unless anyone has other suggestions.

I do not know about POA, but on other NCL cruises you can sign up individuals for the Soda package after you board.  (I sign myself up as my husband does not want/need the soda package.)

After the soda package is purchased onboard you do need to get a new keycard printed with the word 'SODA' on it.

W/O a soda package, all soft drinks (sodas) will be charged.  Juice is free.

Here's some news! I called NCL to add the package for the kids, as I was unable to do it online.

The agent let me know that a half-price option is available, called the "Kids Soda Package", only difference is it does not include nonalcoholic mixed drinks such as virgin Pina Coladas. For the amount saved, we can buy one or two of those as a treat and still save quite a bit of money!

Not sure if this is unique to POA, or available on all NCL ships.

I was also told that bottled water is included with all beverage packages on POA - but only on POA.

I have five NCL cruises booked over the next two years (not POA).  Every one shows the availability online of the adult soda package.

@FLAHAM, understood - I was seeking to book the Unlimited Soda package only for the kids in our group, as all of the adults have the Hawaiian Beverage Package, which includes soda. I did mention that in my earlier post, but should have reiterated it in the more recent one just to be clear.

I promise I'm tech savvy and can navigate NCL's site 😊 - it simply didn't come up as an option for the kids - only for the adults in the cabin. And it wouldn't apply to the adults, as we already have a beverage package that includes soda.

But it's all good, and by calling we actually got a financially better option for the kids. Everything for a reason!
