Beautiful place. Perfect weather. Our guide Paul said “on a clear day like this if you look very close you can see the Statue of Liberty”… pretty sure a few people bought it

Down this very dicey path there are more great views… B was in sandals and waited at the top, and as a result she’s the far less sweaty of the two of us

There’s a coffee shop/bakery/gift shop that lets you use the bathroom if you buy something

I do use the heck out of them...they have held up well.

So we’re back to the terminal after the winery and cape Roca, but not done yet. We have a few hours til Sailaway, and B has this pastry place her Portuguese friend told us we have to try…

 

 

we head to the cab line, but since it’s late in the day, there’s only one guy there, and he basically tries to swindle us into $75 round trip… dumb tourist tax I guess. When we balked, he said “but it’s an S class!”

So we walk across the street to call an Uber…. Which work WAY better in Lisbon than in Barcelona

Mara in her Peugeot was there in under three minutes. And she was the sweetest thing. A veritable tour guide. The ride was sub ten euros. (We tipped more than the ride, she was great)

Made it to Pasteis de Belem! Only a few miles away but a half hour ride. 
 

 

they sell one thing and one thing only. This little custard tart fella.

We took four to go and walked down a ways and around the corner to a nearby park
