Back to back cruises from Miami

We just booked a second cruise out of Miami creating a western and southern back to back. Do we have to disembark at the midway point in Miami and if we do, does Regent provide an excursion or shuttle bus? Thanks!

Short answer: Yes you need to disembark* and Probably there will be an excursion.

* The USA requires that the ship be totally empty of people (passengers and crew) at the first port of entry. If the immediately previous port was in the US (Puerto Rico, Key West), then you may not need to disembark.

We had this scenario in December, and while we did have to disembark, Regent had the hop-on/hop-off bus tour for us, so we we didn't need to sit around the terminal until the port officials let us back on, unless we wanted to.

Be sure and wear the wristband Regent gives you so that you don't need to go through the check-in process again.

We were on in Dec BtoB Miami There was a HOHO that day. We just wanted to enjoy the ship. Those like us were assign a 10 debark time and were told to listen to the announcements. Sure enough about 10ish we ( about dozen of us ) were called to go ashore. We walked off though the terminal and right back on the ship, 10-15 minutes most. Our pass was the new key card. Easy, then headed to a bar to celebrate on a near empty ship. They just had to document that all the passenger were off.

Sounds great! Does anyone remember where the HOHO bus stops or how long the route takes? Thanks so much for the helpful info.

The cruise line bused us to the Bayside Marketplace to catch a dedicated Big Bus Tours bus (only Regent passengers) which took us on the Red Line route. We got off at the marketplace after the circuit and caught a bus back to the port. We didn’t hop off, but if we had we could catch any other bus doing the route to get back to the marketplace.

We did a back-to-back through Miami in Mar/April this year.  They offered 2 tours for the B-t-B passengers...the hop-off-hop-on bus tour and an Everglades Airboat tour.  We did the Airboat tour and it was fabulous.  Highly recommend and we were back to the ship by around noon.  When we left on the tour they gave us color-coded wristbands which allowed us to go around all of the check-ins and go directly back to the ship.

Hope that helps

An Everglades Airboat tour sounds fabulous!

We were staying in Fort Lauderdale a few years ago and booked an Everglades tour including Airboat.  It was fantastic! Definitely worth doing if you can.

Our kids did the Everglades Airboat.  The next month they were visiting us.  We took them to The Gator Farm in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  We did the airboat there.  They said it was much better than the one in the Everglades.  So, if you are ever on the Gulf Coast, check out The Gator Farm.
