Trip Interruptions/Skipping Ports

Recommended Posts

We're on the world cruise and we were given forms to fill out for trip interruptions we were expecting to have. Originally we were told we'd get more information back about our plans 15 days after submitting the requests (after a year of telling us they'd help us plan for trip interruptions) but now we are being told they will let us know 2 weeks before the actual trip interruption if they can accommodate the request.

The most important request we submitted was for August 2024, so it puts us in a holding pattern for over a year to know if we can make it back home in time for an important event before continuing the cruise.

Does anyone here have experiences with planned trip interruptions or even just missed boardings?

For example: If we "miss" boarding (having turned in the request for leaving the boat ahead of time) in amsterdam can we get back on in Reykjavik or St. Johns?

We're being told they have no way of knowing if there will be port agents in any of the ports on the itinerary until 2 weeks before the dates we arrive in port.

Thank you

Since the restart RCI did away with routine downline embarking/disembarking so there are very few reports of that. In emergencies most were accommodated (early disembarkation) but like you were told, that was with very little notice.

As Biker stated, Royal has done away with these for all other sailings with the world cruise being an exception. No one on here will be able to offer any first had advice as the WC is suck a unique situation which not only involves leaving bit also returning to the ship.
