Linaeve Posted June 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Is room service available on embarkation day? Not sure if it matters but I'll be in the Pinnacle suite.
Mike07 Posted June 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2023 No room service on the Statendam on the morning of disembarkation. I do not believe that there was a carve out for suite guests. It was rather odd, but the Statendam crew heavily utilized guest elevators for room service deliveries, it would be a nightmare to try and deliver food on disembarkation/embarkation day. So many people explore the ship on the first day, that wait times and crowding on the elevator is nuts. It does level out at Day 2.

Many will tell you there isn’t I’m sure but there will always be people doing b2b. Like the previous poster said there could be a delay if you get it for lunch. It should be fine for dinner. OlsSalt Posted June 16, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Crew is very busy on turn-around days. Many up all night getting luggage out of the hallways and into the loading area and then getting it off the ship when it docks. I think a lot of the crew has to do double duty on turn-around days, so fewer available for routine services. Plus the cabin crews need to get all cabins ready for the new passengers by check-in time starting around noon. We always go to the MDR on disembarkation days. Our last farewell to the ship moment.
Florida_gal_50 Posted June 16, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2023 The op is asking about embarkation not disembarkation. 1

iceman93 Posted June 17, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Yes, you can order room service on embarkation day. And while it technically shouldn't matter that you're in the PS, I'm sure they will prioritize your order and make extra effort to get it to you quickly. Rare *Miss G* Posted June 17, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Talk to the concierges in the Neptune Lounge as soon as you board. They will take care of everything for you. I also hope that you get the spread that @TheEmerson got and you don’t even have to ask! Have a wonderful time!
Sea42 Posted June 17, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2023 We always get a cheese plate on embarkation day. We call about an hour before sail away. It doesn't matter which cabin you're in.
Rare terrydtx Posted June 18, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 18, 2023 Last year on the Oosterdam we were told room service was not available on embarkation day until after 5:00pm. We were in a SS not a Neptune so maybe suites can get it earlier.
Linaeve Posted June 19, 2023 Author #11 Share Posted June 19, 2023 Thanks everyone. Sounds like it may or may not be available. I will definitely talk to the concierges on arrival to see if it's an option and tip lots if it is. Thanks everyone!
