Family Cabins

Hello!

 

I have not sailed with Princess yet, but I'm looking for information on cabins that fit 5 people. Does Princess have these? I know sometimes people with a larger family will book connecting rooms but I feel like the cost can be more that way. We just sailed on Royal Caribbean in a balcony room and it worked great. Any information is helpful!

Princess has no cabins that accommodate 5 passengers except for the Family Suites on Grand Class ships and the Sky Suite on the Royal Class ship.

I know this is not quite what you wanted, but we sailed on the NCL Sun in a balcony for 5 when my kids were small.  Wouldn't do it today with 3 teens bigger than me 😉

That's helpful information,  I'm definitely looking at all ships! We just went on a Royal Caribbean and all fit into a balcony room, it was fine! Won't be when they are teens for sure but right now it's great

If you decide on two cabins note this restriction in the passage contract.

"For family groups booking multiple staterooms, the minimum age for at least one person in each stateroom is 16 years of age, provided they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian." 

It is common for one adult to be booked in each cabin. Many times this provides additional benefits. Once on board they switch cabins as they require.

You can easily get around this by technically putting one parent in each cabin, but actually sleeping in whatever cabin you want

and maybe just one parent get PLUS/Premier?

I never get that, but it sounds like 2 people still have to get the plan and the child only gets unlimited soda instead of alcohol.

OP has not stated how old/young the 3 children are.  OP has mentioned cost of 2 cabins.  I would be concerned about 3 children under the age of 5 being alone in a cabin.  OP may consider holding off on Princess for a few more years.  Not enough information provided.

Sorry about that... my children are 6,7,8 so I probably wouldn't do a cabin across the hall until they are older. I'm good with connecting cabins if it fits my budget.
