Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #102 Share Posted June 23, 2023 Photos from our cabin on deck 10. We had balcony guarantee and were assigned to category BB. Many people who booked an Oceanview or Interior cabin reported success with minimum upgrade bids about 30 days before the cruise.

Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #104 Share Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) We had to Google “Naked Lights” as we don’t remember seeing this on other ships when refueling was happening. It means no open flames or devices that might start a fire. Embarkation day photos. Edited June 23, 2023 by Seas2mountains
Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #105 Share Posted June 23, 2023 Casino photos taken on Embarkation Day. There are signs that say No Smoking on deck 7 for the main casino area. There seems to be a contained area on deck 8 which is part of the casino and is the smoking area. Photos taken on embarkation day. We haven’t really walked through this area since it has been open.

Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #110 Share Posted June 23, 2023 Photos from the Battle of the Cake Masters. The man on the right is a guest who was competing with an Executive pastry chef in the middle, I believe, and the person moderating this is an Executive Chef, I believe. I couldn’t quite hear when he was doing introductions. The person moderating this is really funny and gives food tastes to audience members.
Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #111 Share Posted June 23, 2023 Wines Around the World Latitudes tasting. There were four stations and each had one red wine and one white or rose wine. There was a dumping bucket and pitchers of water to clear the wine glass in between tastings. We tried a few wines we have not sampled in the past. This was nicely done but I don’t think we will return on the next sailing.
bluesea777 Posted June 23, 2023 #112 Share Posted June 23, 2023 There is a Multi-Function room on deck 13 forward, above Spinnaker, access is by going up stairs from deck 12 forward elevators (they don’t go up to 13). This room has library, games, card tables, nice views. I’m sure @YVRteacher and her Dad will be spending a lot of down time in there!

Yes, that room was quite crowded with kids and families when we discovered it on Embarkation day so I did not get any photos as I didn’t want people in the photos. I’ll try to get some when it is empty.
Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #115 Share Posted June 23, 2023 Dinner last night was at Le Bistro. We both had Escargot appetizers. I had the goat cheese croquettes with arugula salad, beets and green apples and my husband had the endive salad. I has Dover Sole for the entree and he has the Sea Bass. We were too full to consider dessert but will be sure to save space another time. We enjoyed sipping Veuve Cliquot with dinner. All food was excellent and the service was good, too. I would say there was a little too much salad dressing than I care for on the arugula salad but everything was delicious.

bomabound Posted June 23, 2023 #117 Share Posted June 23, 2023 @Seas2mountains At the Wines around the World, did you just go table to table to try the wines, or did someone make a presentation to talk about each wine?
Rare cruiseny4life Posted June 23, 2023 #118 Share Posted June 23, 2023 That aft pool area and Great Outdoors look amazing! Almost makes me want to book a small NCL ship cruise! Thanks for posting. I think I actually mumbled, "wow" under my breath when I saw that area. What's a dumping bucket? To pour out wine? That's alcohol abuse, if so! I'm not a wine person, but I'd still drink whatever's in my glass. Booze is booze says the hardly ever to drink criticer. 🙂

Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #120 Share Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) If you enjoy live music performances, you will be happy with the variety of choices on the Spirit. We dressed early for dinner hoping to enjoy hearing Valentyna play the piano and sing at 4:45pm as was listed in the daily. The Magnum’s area filled quickly by 4:45pm but there was some miscommunication and she did not perform at that time. We decided to go to Spinnaker lounge for the Latitudes cocktail party at 5pm and we are glad we did as we got to listen to B12 band play some Carpenters music. The Cruise Next Director introduced one new Ambassador guest. I wish they would tell us how many guests are on the ship for each level. After dinner, we went to the theater for World Beat. My husband and I typically do not go to the theater but we had to see this after seeing and hearing about the costumes during the behind the scenes tour. It was a fabulous performance and we highly recommend this show! My favorite part was the the dancing in the Philippines and my husband’s favorite part was the Irish clogging. After the theater, we grabbed seats in Henry’s Pub to listen to the very talented Lorenzo who sings and plays guitar. We are feeling really lucky that we get to hear him play again during the cruise. We got really hot in Henry’s Pub but changed our seating to get airflow. If you want to cook or get cold easily, choose the booth seats. Henry’s Pub is a cute area that will remind you of Captain Cook’s on the Sky and Sun with the wood paneling. I know Captain Cook’s on the Sky was refurbished and renamed to Sugarcane. At 9pm, we moved to Spinnaker to hear B12 play. We love this venue as it isn’t too crowded and B12 is one of the best bands we have heard on NCL. It felt more on the warm side and definitely not cold. We left after the cruise staff came in for the second set and turned it into the dance party area. We moved back to Magnums on deck 8 which overlooks the Atrium. Can you believe they have an amazing duo who were performing? Well, there is Over the Moon and they are also fantastic. Apparently, there is another group called Nature’s Rhythm but we haven’t heard them yet. There is also the Stardust Ensemble who are also excellent and play jazz and instrumental in the Atrium. As I said previously, we are really happy with the entertainment options! Photos below B12 - look how snazzy they look in tuxedos! They introduced each table to briefly discuss each wine and they also introduced each wine steward who were staffing each table. The wine stewards discussed each wine in depth based on guest interest in hearing about the wines.

It is Wow space for sure. Yes, the dumping bucket was to dump wine or water used to clear the glass before the next tasting.

Rare Seas2mountains Posted June 23, 2023 Author #124 Share Posted June 23, 2023 When I drink, I tend to prefer wines or Gin with club soda as tonic water makes it too sweet. We really like ‘66 Gin by Norwegian which is on P+ and you may see ‘66 pins worn by the bartenders. On this cruise, I challenged myself to try a new-to-me drink. Yesterday, the drink of the day for me was the Sidecar. I could only take a few sips before my husband took over the drink. I also tried a Whiskey Sour which I was able to almost finish but I don’t think I would order it again. Any suggestions for non-sugary drinks that don’t contain pineapple juice?
Rare laudergayle Posted June 23, 2023 #125 Share Posted June 23, 2023 @Seas2mountains You’re giving me major cruise fever. Your Le Bistro post had some of my all time favorite memories…those goat cheese croquettes were delicious. Personally I would of found room for dessert…best dessert I’ve ever had was the Ile Flottante. And, add the Veuve. How heavenly. Thanks for sharing.
