Overnight stay in a port

We've never been on a cruise where the ship stays overnight in a port and doesn't leave until the following evening. That will be happening on our cruise when the Escape arrives at Livorno at 6:30am Sunday and doesn't leave until 7:00pm Monday.

So...on Sunday, is there a "curfew" time when everyone has to be back on the ship the first night? Or can you come and go at all hours?

When growing up, the local TV stations would say. "It's 11:00...do you know where your children are?"

or you’re from the midwest, OMAHA bob, where, typically, the local news begins at 10 pm.

these announcements would often run just before the local news.

There is usually no curfew.  In fact, it's common for people to spend that night in a hotel in the city rather than spending time going back and forth to/from the ship.  Since Livorno is quite a distance from Florence, you might consider doing this if you wish to have more time exploring Florence itself.

I stand corrected. (Actually, I'm sitting...but you get the idea.)

It was 10:00 for me, too. But I'm old and the memory is the second thing to go.

Or, more likely they thought it best if those hellions from the mid-west were home earlier 😉

Actually, it was 10:00 as I remember it too and I'm on the east coast.

I'm not from the midwest. I'm a military brat who also had a military career, so my identity isn't really tied to one area, though my childhood was mostly in the south. The username is a holdover from years ago.

But yeah, right before the local news, on all two channels.
