scatmanjack Posted June 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2023 Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission used to have a table set up at old Royal Caribbean Terminal asking for voluntary payment of Duty for any Alcohol and Tobacco purchases from your sailing. I have not seen this table set up at the new Pier 10 RC Terminal on my last two sailings nor have I sailed any other cruise lines from Texas recently. Did the TABC finally give up on this? RocketMan275 Posted June 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2023 When I was stationed at Fort Hood, there was a sign up sheet at the post liquor store. Those living off post were to sign the sheet and pay a Texas State tax. I never saw anyone volunteer to pay the additional taxes.
longhorn2004 Posted June 28, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2023 They were not at the new RC terminal in December either. Not complaining.

longhorn2004 Posted October 29, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 29, 2023 My opinion is that Texas faced a lot of blow back on this. While still the law and must be mentioned to pax on cruise ships. I think Texas is not enforcing it.
