Passages Activity List from a Transatlantic

Hello----I know this is a lot to ask but hopeful someone has one and can post a Passages for a sea day showing activities on ship during a transatlantic crossing. It would be a big help as we make a decision.

I imagine there would be a trivia offering but in the past I've heard some passengers can be crazy competitive which would make us lose interest.

Thanks very much for any replies.

I didn't keep our passages, and this is going by memory from our April TA on Voyager, but a typical sea day:

2-3 games, often with/against crew (Baggo, ladder golf, putting, etc)

Various cards/tournaments (bridge, casino activities)

Craft activities

Country Fair on one of the days

Enrichment talks (I believe 2x a day)

I think they did some interactive Q&A with the entertainers

Trivia

Mensa quizzes

Ongoing scavenger hunt (this was kind of disappointing)

Usually some pre/post dinner lounge entertainment

Yoga/fitness activities

PM shows starting at 20:30 iirc

Of course, most of those were also done on port days, just less of them.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff.

One thing I will note,

We had a great time but if I did a TA cruise again I would go west bound, not east bound. Jumping the hour so often in close succession was wearing thin on me. I think westward, gaining an hour would be a far easier imho.

I’m a nerd.  I photograph all daily Passages as part of my trip memories.   See below. Sorry they’re a little crooked.  Hard to get the parallax perfect.

And I’m not sure if they will come in out of order.  I’m not great with technology.

I also searched for this info prior to my cruise so I thought I would post so others can enjoy.

Oh and on the crazy competitive trivia - sure there are always those folks who take it too seriously.  But I did trivia every day, sometimes even just by myself with a glass of wine, and I had a blast.   So who cares if there’s a team who wants to ruin their own evening over it.  Have a cocktail and enjoy it!

Thanks a lot for posting this, Vegas.  We'll be on the same Splendor TA this Nov/Dec '23, so this was perfect to see the schedule and activities in advance.  Getting excited already!  Thanks again!  Regards.

@VegasTW I don't see the Sunday Brunch at sea on the schedule, but did you have one?

I found it wasn't listed on the daily schedule on the Splendor TA in April 2022, but was shown in one of the little side picture ads. So I always advise reading everything, even the "ads", because some info is only found there.

Yes I noticed I didn’t see it on the schedule either. Thought this was a given on a Sunday sea day and on the new ships

Restaurant details & times are shown on the back page of Passages, which are not shown in the above images.

It looks like there was a Sunday Sea Day Brunch on Sunday November 27 since the daily schedule shows a meet up of Solo & Social Travellers for brunch at 11am in Compass Rose.

Ballroom dance lessons come to mind

We have seen this on previous TransAtlantics; and the images posted above indicate Dance Classes on most sea days.

On our 10 day cruise on the Splendor with two sea day Suns. the Brunch was only on one of the Sundays. So not necessarily on every Sun.

Yes, that is our experience. One Sunday Sea Day Brunch per cruise segment even if there is more than one Sunday at sea.

Vegas, thanks so much for the Passages.  We're on the same cruise this year, albeit starting in Rome rather than Barcelona.  This is very helpful for trying to plan our days at sea, or at least see everything that is available.  Hoping we can get from duplicate bridge, which ends at 4:30 PM, to Trivia, which begins at 4:30, without knocking people over in the corridors.    😉

Hey, pingpong1, we look forward to meeting you on this voyage.

Thanks Kathy!  I've been remiss lately for not staying in touch with everyone on the roll call forum.  I'll do better from here on out.  We made our "final payment" this morning.  Best Regards.
