Just noticed on O website:  Original "OCEANIA"  same type style

 

Underneath:  "CRUISES"  new sans serif type style, smaller font size.

 

Speculating here:  Part of new branding -- in conjunction with 'SIMPLY MORE"

Funny, that’s pretty much what my husband said when I tried to explain the upcoming changes, “so much for our world our way.”

Me, too. “Simply more” is a major marketing change after building the brand on “your world, your way” for twenty years.

Apparently "simply more" means simply more revenue for Oceania and simply less opportunity to customize the cruise to meet your own needs.

It looks like Oceania decided to use the same sans serif typeface that the new Crystal Cruises adopted a few months ago.  I guess the marketing people thinks that’s the “it” typeface, or none of them are creative thinkers, or both.
