I haven't had the chowder. The food quality overall is very, very good and consistent at the Hamilton Princess so I would have no reason to think that it wouldn't be of a high standard.

One issue with Art Mel's is that it's take out only...there's no seating in the restaurant nor even immediately nearby.. You have to take your sandwich elsewhere to eat it.
