This was our neighbor.  US Destroyer, I believe.  Our guide said they had recently (couple years ago) joined NATO (interesting timing……).   There is def a sense of security having the big brother spending time here considering their geographic proximity .

Current events. Finland joined NATO on April 3rd 2023.  Sweden approved to join just this week.

You are correct - Roosevelt is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. Son has served on two in this class.

We have a husband and wife traveling with us that did 20 years together in Navy (mostly aircraft carriers).  After I posted, they confirmed as well.  She also checked the deployment.  Thanks for the double check.
