Endeavour Cabin Selection

I'm in the process of booking an Antarctica cruise on the Endeavour.  From looking at exterior pictures of the ship, it appears that all Classic Veranda Suites have metal rather than glass below the balcony rail which would block views unless standing.  I can't find any information on SS website.  Can anyone who has sailed on the Endeavour confirm which is correct?  If it is metal, I'll spend the $ and upgrade to a Superior Verandah Suite for a better view.  SS website is showing cabins 606, 663, and 668 being available although there may be more.  Does anyone have experience with these cabins?  606 has the advantage of being close to outside deck viewing but disadvantage of more movement in bad weather.  663/668 would have likely have less movement but potential of more noise from the engines and pool/whirlpool/seating right outside the cabin.  Also, these two cabins don't show a hallway between the cabin and neighboring cabin.  Is that an advantage?

  • A friend of mine sailed on the Endeavour when it was owned by Crystal and was in cabin 663. It had a great balcony. All glass…no metal. I’ve taken a screenshot of the ship and circled the balcony of cabin 663. I would imagine 668 is the same. One thing to note though is that it is at the end of the hall next to the door that leads to the upper level of The Grill. He said that he was never bothered by noise.

I'm in 663 right now! It's a terrific suite. You can go down a staircase right outside the suite and you are at the grill. No noise at all and the end of the balcony has a wide open view.

Adding a photo of the suite just for fun.

The TV looks like it dominates the room.

I stayed mid-ship on 6 and it was terrific. I was initially concerned about noise from the elevator and stairwell area, but there was no noise at all. (And great location for little motion through the Drake and other rougher spots.)
